What to Expect
In your search for a veterinary facility, we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our commitment to you is to continue to offer our world class service and a state of the art veterinary facility.
Your pet’s annual vet check-up will include a thorough review of your pet’s medical history, a complete physical exam, appropriate routine testing and a review of your doctor’s recommendations.
Our team will want to review your pet’s medical history with you so plan ahead and bring any information you have about your pet’s vaccination history, diet, previous and current medical problems and all current medications and/or supplements that your pet is taking.
Our doctors will do a complete physical exam. The physical includes an evaluation of the skin, coat and nails, a exam of the eyes and ears, a dental exam and discussion about the health of the teeth and gums, auscultation of the heart and lungs, palpation of the abdomen, a brief orthopedic exam and discussion of any painful areas that limit your pet’s mobility and an evaluation of your pet’s weight and body condition.
We will make recommendations about appropriate testing such as fecal exams, heart worm testing, blood and urine panels, blood pressure checks as well as discuss routine preventative measures such as home dental care, flea and tick control, internal parasite control and basic nutrition.
Occasionally our veterinarians may refer you to a specialist or a veterinarian who has completed advanced training in a specialty such as internal medicine, surgery, neurology, cardiology or critical care. We make such referrals when your pet requires a procedure that demands more precise knowledge and expertise or more sophisticated diagnostic or therapeutic tools. Your pet’s doctor works in conjunction with the specialist to make sure that your pet gets the best care available.
